Panjab University (PU) is a state university, located in Chandigarh. It was established in the year 1882 and is approved by the AICTE, UGC, and NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. Panjab University has 188 Affiliated Colleges spread over Punjab and having one rural Regional Centre at Kauni, and 3 Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana, and Hoshiarpur. PUCET-UG 2021 will be organized through offline mode in the month of June 2021. Panjab University, Chandigarh carry outs PUCET (Panjab University Common Entrance Test). This is a university level entrance test held yearly for admission in a choice of UG courses. Admission will be offered in various courses in the EngineeringLawManagement, Arts & Humanities and Health & Sciences. It is must for the candidates to meet the criteria in the entrance exam by securing the qualifying marks as proposed for admission in different courses.

PU CET (2021) Eligibility Criteria:

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Applying candidate must be Indian national.
  • NRI: Non-Resident Indians can apply via NRI quota to get the eligibility criteria.
  • Age Criteria: Applying candidate’s minimum age should be 17 years as on the admission year. The applicant must be 17 years of age as on 31st December in the year of enrolment for being able to complete the eligibility criteria to apply for PU CET (2021) for the undergraduate courses.

Qualification:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed 12th level or its equivalent from a recognized board or university.
  • Qualifying Marks: Passed 12th level securing minimum of 50% marks. Candidates of ST/ SC/ OBC/ PWD category must have secured minimum of 45% marks.
  • Qualifying Subjects: Passed 12th level with Physics, Chemistry, English subjects and any one subject among Mathematics / Biotechnology/ Biology.

 

Caste Certificate:

  • Applicant belonging to SC Category must submit the certificate regarding their category duly signed by the officers mentioned in the form. Applications containing the signature of any other officer will not be accepted to get the eligibility criteria.

Reservation system for PUCET-UG (2021):

  • For the Physically Handicapped person is provided as follows:
PU CET Reservation Criteria
1st preference Candidate  suffering from Loco-motor disabilities of Lower Limbs between 50% – 70%
2nd preference Candidate suffering from Loco-motor disabilities of Lower Limbs between 40% – 50%
  • Applicants will be enrolled under the eligibility criteria laid down by the Chandigarh Administration/Panjab University, Chandigarh.
  • Applicants who are blind (including color blind), deaf and dumb are not in the eligibility criteria.
